The BRCCH is a world-class multidisciplinary research centre dedicated to advancing digit al tools specifically tailored to the medical needs of children and adolescents. The main goal of the BRCCH is to leverage multidimensional data related to health and state diseases to create disease prognosis models, diagnostic tools and novel therapies that can help to improve children’s lives. Founded with the financial support of Fondation Botnar, the BRCCH builds on the clinical expertise of the University of Basel (UniBas) and the cellular engineering knowledge of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ). The ultimate purpose of the Centre is to develop integrative paediatric research across the entire computational and data science space including distinct aspects of public health.
The Centre harnesses many of the latest advances in digital health, systems medicine and computational modelling for advancing the healthcare of paediatric patients, and as such is comprised of six new professorships and two capacity building platforms. An executive office team will coordinate the activities of the Centre, including its Early Career Programme.
